A working mother of three, Kara knows life can feel like pure chaos, but that there is always something good to squeeze out. Kara loves photography, painting, reading, exercise, writing, teaching, motherhood, and spending time with cherished family and her fabulous friends. She is a life enthusiast, passionate about helping others make their dreams reality. She has been through some STUFF, and now that she is on the other side, she loves to lead other young women and moms toward cultivating lives that they truly love. And because she, a sinner, has been redeemed again and again through God's relentless love and grace, she burns to share her stories of struggles and redemption she has encountered along the way. She received her BA from Old Dominion University in 2012, where she studied Communications. Later, Kara completed a Post-Baccalaureate Teaching License program with a focus on middle school English & Language Arts education at a private university and earned a MA in Christian Spiritual Formation from Virginia Beach's Regent University. Recently, Kara completed all of her coursework for a Ph.D. in Communications and is in the process of dissertation. Besides being a wife, mother, researcher, photographer, and writer, Kara works as a director at a ministry college, doing a little bit of everything! |
A Message from Kara:We are all "called" to something - those sweet, beautiful dreams that are tucked away in our hearts; those "maybe somedays" that we think of everyday; the things we want to do that we know our whole lives thus far have led us to; the calling to live a RIGHTEOUS life, that is pleasing to God, good for us, and encouraging to others.
Sometimes, though, life happens. We get busy, tired, discouraged, or distracted; We choose to shove those dreams away and run from holiness, choosing instead to hide in our complacency, fear, or shame. God's Word, though, makes it clear that we are to live in a different way - in a way that loves radically and brings honor to His name. "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:17 NIV Each of us has been equipped with what it takes to live out a higher calling for Christ's name. Even still, each of us encounters challenges and difficulties along the way. The goal of A Moment of Clarity Blog is to share one woman's real-life stories of struggles, convictions, and surrenders, in hopes of letting YOU know that whatever you're facing, you are not alone. God is with you; He has made you, and He will sustain you. I've seen this provision time and time again. I see the beautiful and intricate work of God's hands throughout the story of my life, and in the lives of those around me. I am often overwhelmed by His goodness, power, timeliness, and grace. He has pulled me out of the depths of darkness so many times that I cannot deny His love for us. I have to share it with the world. A Moment of Clarity Blog features mostly my personal experiences, insights, and examples, but I strive to maintain some sense of integrity (despite the total baring of my soul- even the ugly parts!), in that my insights are met with Biblical truth. It is through our study of, meditation of, belief in, and application of Scripture, with praise and prayer, that God's will comes alive in us, leading us to believe in and reach our "God-sized" dreams. Be encouraged in your faith journey and let me help you discover your God dreams, so that you can cultivate a life that you truly love. I'm praying for you, my friend; I'm thankful that you found this page. As you explore the blog and site, my prayer is that you will find SOMETHING that speaks to you in some way. Please feel free to leave comments, suggestions, share insights, and ask questions; I want this site to be a place of COMMUNITY, where we can cheer each other on toward the pursuit of our goals and dreams. Your thoughts, like you, are valuable, cherishable, and unique. I'm happy you're here! |
