Sometimes, the Spirit engraves the same message on my heart over and over again, until it seeps into my very being and becomes part of who I am. This is one of those messages. "For with God, nothing is impossible." Luke 1:37When I was in Nicaragua earlier this year, this was the verse that we shared with the kids we were ministering to. We either began or ended each session with the reciting of this verse. As each day passed, as I heard it read aloud again and again by precious little voices, even in sweltering conditions, I found myself pondering the truth of its meaning. Does God quite literally mean that with Him, all things are possible? Like, not SOME things... but ALL things? Anything? This just didn't seem logical. But then I read Priscilla Shirer's book, God Is Able, and suddenly this made so much sense. "Now to Him who is ABLE to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory." |
